End Slavery Tennessee Tackles Sex Trafficking in Midstate

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--FOX 17 is taking a closer look at human trafficking and sex trafficking in Middle Tennessee.

One of the organizations fighting human trafficking in Middle Tennessee is End Slavery Tennessee. According to the organization, 94 teens are sold into sex slavery each month in Tennessee. The organization adds estimates are a young girl is exchanged for sexual favors up to 20 times each day.

Derri Smith, founder of End Slavery Tennessee, says one issue facing women is many of their traffickers come to them with promises of a better life, only to take advantage of them.
