End Slavery Tennessee Names Kelli Cary As New CEO
Kelli Cary replaces Margie Quin, becoming the third CEO in the organization’s history.
NASHVILLE, TN. November 15, 2022. The Board of Directors of End Slavery Tennessee (ESTN) has named Kelli Cary of Canton, Ohio as its new CEO, succeeding Margie Quin, following her appointment as Commissioner of Tennessee’s Department of Children’s Services.
ESTN, an anti-human trafficking nonprofit serving the 41 counties of Middle Tennessee and member of the Tennessee Counter-Trafficking Alliance, recently celebrated the state’s #1 ranking in its response to child and youth sex trafficking. Cary will assume her role as the organization’s new leader on December 1, 2022.
Cary brings a wealth of experience through her progressive career in the fight against human trafficking. She has spent the last 10 years leading anti-trafficking efforts in Ohio and believes that collaboration at the local, state, and national level is how we will effectively combat human trafficking. Cary received her graduate degree from Case Western Reserve University and is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-S).
“Kelli’s leadership, experience, and passion, alongside the strength of the ESTN team and commitment of our community, will be integral as we continue the fight again human trafficking in Tennessee,” said Lori Hines, ESTN Board of Directors Chair.
Most recently, Cary held the position of Vice President of Programming at RAHAB Ministries, where she supervised staff and programs providing direct services to adult and minor survivors of sex trafficking. Additionally, Cary co-chaired the Victim Services Subcommittee for the Ohio Attorney General’s Human Trafficking Commission where she led efforts to prioritize service standards across the state. Cary comes to ESTN with experience developing trauma-informed programs that prioritize survivor voices to ensure services are truly restorative.
“I’m honored to lead End Slavery Tennessee alongside a team of passionate staff, board members, and volunteers,” Cary said. “Together, we’ll continue to provide excellent aftercare services, advocate for systemic change, and collaborate with all sectors of society to address the vulnerabilities that lead to exploitation.”
ESTN recently opened the doors to its Survivor Restoration Campus, a first of its kind recovery program that will increase clinical services, expand housing solutions, and offer comprehensive wraparound services so that survivors can begin to create lives full of hope and possibility.
