Clarksville Now: Two Men Charged With Solicitation of Minor on Craigslist

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Two men were recently arrested following an undercover Craigslist operation targeting sexual offenders.

According to arrest warrants, both 31-year-old Darrell Wayne Denney and 36-year-old Raymond Austin Woods were in contact with an undercover agent posing as a mother seeking sex for herself and her 13-year-old daughter. The contact occurred via email between Sept. 21 and Oct. 23.

In separate incidents, each suspect allegedly agreed to meet who they thought was the mother Oct. 23 at the Wingate Motel on Riverside Dr. Both suspects were seen by police knocking on the hotel room door at the specified time.

When police searched Woods, they found a condom in his pocket, and the warrant states that he admitted to police that he believed he was meeting up with a 13-year-old girl for sex.

Police also searched Denney and found a box of condoms in his pocket. He also admitted to police that he was under the impression he would be meeting a 13-year-old girl for sex, according to the warrant.

Both men were arrested and charged with solicitation of a minor. Denney’s bond was set at $35,000 and Woods’ bond was set at $50,000.
