Weekly Update

The past two weeks have been quite busy here at the End Slavery Tennessee office!

Our summer interns, Allie and Kamrie, have completed three sessions of youth presentations thus far with youth coming in from Alabama, Texas, and Georgia.  The team of two educate the teens on human trafficking in general and the tactics of traffickers, and allow the group to take action via a door hanger event campaign.

Last week we had a special visit from Isaac Lopez of Heartland Alliance.  We had the opportunity to sit down with him and hear about this great organization.  We have begun drawing up partnering plans to assist in the overseeing and follow up procedures for reunification of youth with their families.  It was truly a pleasure to meet and discuss future projects.

Our team of three, Christine, Shelia, and Lizedny, have been busy working with survivors and our newest referrals.  We have had three new survivors in the past two weeks and our case managers and intervention specialist have been busy working to meet the needs of each of the girls and work on building new relationships.

We also found out that one of our survivors is visiting us this week and we are so excited to see her again!!

In addition, we  recently received two amazing grants; a technology grant  from The Frist Foundation,  and $25,000 from  HCA Foundation to further our missio. We're so grateful!

As another current workload, seemingly less exciting but which will help us work more efficiently, we're working on setting up two new internal systems for our office staff – Volgistics, a volunteer management system, and getting ready to switch over to Office 365.

There is always plenty of work to be done here and though it takes a lot of time and effort, the reward of helping to empower and support the amazing survivors we work with is well worth it!
