Actors: Rachel Weisz, Monica Bollucci, and Vanessa Redgrave
The screenplay was inspired by the true story of Kathryn Bolkovac, a Nebraska police office that was recruited as a United Nations peacekeeper for Dyn Corp International. Bolkovac was stationed in post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1999.
Upon discovering a sex trafficking ring serving and funded by a major corporation, Kathryn Bolkovack (Weisz) makes a heroic attempt to free the enslaved girls. But the corruption in the corporation and diplomatic participation overpowers her attempts and she becomes unable to trust those around her. Finally forced to leave the country because of her efforts to shut down the trafficking ring, Bolkovac works to gather and compose enough evidence to present to and convince the world of these horrendous crimes.
This film is rated R for violence and graphic content, and language.
