Introducing MATT (Men Against Tennessee Trafficking)…
Addressing the complex issue of human trafficking takes our entire community. We need everyone at the table to fulfill End Slavery Tennessee’s mission “to promote healing of human trafficking survivors and strategically confront slavery in our state.”
For many reasons, including our trauma-informed care model and our clients’ right to privacy and confidentiality, most volunteers will not have the opportunity to engage directly with survivors. This has been particularly true related to men as most the survivors we serve are women and girls who have been mistreated by men. So while we are cognizant of the limitations, we also acknowledge the contributions that a few good men have made and can make. And, we want to make more space for that with MATT – Men Against Tennessee Trafficking.
Let’s get started with a meet-up to discuss volunteer opportunities and roles especially for men who want to join in our vision to “create a slave-free Tennessee.”
